I have never realized I would be able to take part in a Familiarization Trip that would include Ghost in it. It is definitely an experience that I could talk about.

Familiarization Trip Summary:
What we did: Check out mines, Hanged out with Cowboys, Visited a Ghost Town and apparently we went Ghost Hunting.

Day 1 – Las Vegas

We stayed at Downtown Grand near Fermont Street. Which was actually the old strip. We also went to the Mob Museum this day which is actually a pretty cool museum where you can know about the Organized Crime in the US. You can actually spend 3hours just roaming around the Museum.

We then afterwards went to a PhotoTour in the Strip. Where we hopped on a cool bus that serves alcohol. We went around Las Vegas taking photos for our trip.

Day 2 – Rhyolite Ghost Town, Beaty Cowboys and Haunted Mizpah Hotel
After Vegas we then proceed going to Rhyolite which was once a rich city in Nevada during the Gold Rush. The city started on Early 1905 then it became a ghost town at 1910. It is a weird to see how a ghost town like Rhyolite was once a develop city in the early 1900’s.

We then had our lunch at Beatty City with the cowboys and Floozies. We got to coversate with them and watch them in a shoot out. I didn’t get a photo since it all happened so fast. I was mostly shocked and scared at first. Beatty City is also an entry point to Death Valley. People go here to sleep when they hike Death Valley because accommodation it’s cheaper.
After the shootout and lunch. We then checked-in to the Mizpah Hotel. I wasn’t informed that it’s haunted. The heavy energy upon entering the hotel was there. It also has all the needed decor that would frighten you as you go to up to your room. The hotel has been there since 1907 it was shut for renovation on 1999 then reopened at 2011. It was really the creepiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We have own rooms and because I’m scared I asked my friend to stay in my room instead. Flickering lights and old photos did not help me sleep.

Our dinner was hosted by Tonapah Brewery. We also had beer tasting which was great. This helps with the haunted hotel situation. The dinner was great and the beer was interesting I really liked how it has distinct flavors that I never tasted in a beer before. My favorite was Yankee Girl.

Day 3 – Virginia City, Mining and Ghosts
We then headed to Virginia City. This was a timewarp to the old west days. We had a 30 minute tour around the area then a mining tour where we can went down the mine for a while just to see how the miners worked.

We checked in at our hotel then had free time to look around and shop around the area. It was a great place to explore. There are a lot of photo ops that are very much instagramable. The whole city is basically themed. Even the bars and dining area are very old western.

We had dinner at Cider Factory which was great. The food was delicious and everything was themed. from the ambiance to the decor. It was a cozy place where you could easily chit chat with your companions while having an awesome meal.

After a great meal. we were in for a whole new adventure. The city is also popular for ghost hunting and that’s exactly what we did later that night. We actually did the ghost hunt with a ghost meter. At this point I’m scared and wouldn’t want a ghost to follow me. So I didn’t hold the meters and just followed them around the cold night. The meters blinked fast and slow while we walked to different places in the city and told ghost stories about a certain location. Lo and behold our hotel which we where checked in for the night is actually part of the haunted places in the city. Turns out the hotel was built on 1876 and a prostitute died by slashing her wrist in a bathtub at the establishment at room 11. And yes the bathtub is still there. Also some kids (ghost) and other ghost roam around the hallway at night

Day 4 – Virginia Cemetery and Carson City
Virginia Cemetery was beautiful. Well the view from the cemetery was beautiful it overlooked to small city of Virginia with it’s snowy mountains on the background. You never expect this sight in Nevada. It is also a different experience to be able to visit a foreign cemetery. I only see tomb stones like those in the movies.

Carson City was only a few minute drive from Virginia. It is also popular from it’s ghost haunts and being the capital of Nevada. We are greeted and toured around the city. We were told different ghost stories in different houses which were all very interesting. There is even a house that is kept for sale for several years. it even has a pentagram on it’s lawn. Let’s just say it’s a very interesting house and I wouldn’t want to be in there.

Overall this tour was very exciting and interesting. It’s not your common american tour. It’s an experience and story worth telling.

P.S. No, I didn’t experience ghost except very loud creaking sounds from the room we were in. not sure if it’s because of the old building or the ghost waking me up.

P.P.S. But my co- travel agents did experienced and witnessed something scary during the tour.
