We have been applying for Japan visas for our clients for over 10 years already. The tips that I will be sharing is from ours and our clients’ personal experiences. Here are 3 easy Steps on how to get a Japan Visa.
Disclaimer: These steps does not give you an automatic approved visa, This is just a guide to help you on your process. Be kind to your travel consultants because the one who will approve your visa is the consul and it will also depend the documents you submitted.
1. Set your Close to Exact Travel Date
Japan Visa will vary depending on your departure date. Make sure to plan your departure and plan out your itinerary. You will be able to apply for visa 3 months before your departure. Take note that your visa grant will start on the day that your visa is issued and then end in 3 months, 5 years if you get multiple. You will only be allowed to stay for 15 Days (Single Entry) or 30 Days (Multiple Entry) in Japan.
2. Complete your Requirements
All requirements are key to get your visas approved. If you lack any of the requirements this may cause denial of your application.
- Original Passport (Valid 6 months before your departure)
- Application Form (A4, Do Not Staple)
- (2) recent colored 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm size photos with white background.
- PSA Original Birth Certificate (Issued within the year)
If you have a late registered birth certificate you will have to submit your original baptismal certificate / Form 137, The address of the church or school must be indicated in the documents. - Original NSO marriage certificate (Issued within the year)
- Original Bank Certificate
- Itinerary of your trip
- ITR (Income Tax Return) BIR FORM 2316 / BIR FORM 1701
This is applicable for Employed, Freelancers and Business owners

3. Submit your Application

Is it hard to get a Japan Visa?
No, It is actually one of the most lenient country to provide you a tourist visa as long as you provide all the needed requirements.
I’m Late registered and I don’t have my Baptismal or Form 137 anymore. What should I do?
Simply write an explanation letter explaining why you do not have access to the documents anymore.
Do I need to submit a Bank Certificate? Can I just give my Time Deposit instead? What if I don’t have a Savings bank account?
Yes, You need to submit a Bank Certificate. No, Time Deposit will not be accepted. You need to provide proof that you are capable of traveling to Japan. If you don’t have a bank account kindly make one. This is also key to getting other more visas for your future travels.
How much show money should I put in my Bank Account.?
Your money should be more than the actual money you will spend during your travel to Japan. Please be mindful of the days that you will be staying in Japan because Japan is not a cheap country. P50,000 for 3 to 5 days in japan would be okay but showing more would be better. However if you will be staying for 10-15 days with only P50,000 your chance of denial will be high.
What if I will be supporting my family how much should I Show?
If you will be supporting your family P50,000 per person for 3-5 days in Japan is Ideal.
I will be Supporting my Family / Relatives, What do I need?
1. Fill up this document that you will need to submit to support your family
2. Attach a Proof of relationship from the guarantor. Sometimes we would ask if you could provide photos with each other.
3. The guarantor will need to provide his own set of requirements such as: current japan visa (if applicable), Bank Certificate, Business documents or COE, ITR
Will they give back my Original Documents that I have submitted?
No, They will be keeping all documents that are needed upon submission.
I Don’t have an ITR because I just started my job / I am a freelancer or self employed / I just started my business. What should I do?
Kindly write a letter of explanation why you don’t have an ITR. If you are a freelancer proof of you working or contract from your clients would be sufficient to support the job you currently have.
I am a senior citizen do I still need an ITR?
No, You don’t need ITR Anymore.
Do I need to buy a plane ticket before applying for a visa?
It is not stated on the list of requirements but some travel agencies would require you to have a plane ticket or reserve through them.
However us in Skywin Travel, We Do not require Plane tickets before application. We highly recommend you to get your visa first before buying a ticket especially if you have not travel to anywhere yet.
How do I get a Multiple Japan Visa?
Some people request for a multiple Japan Visa, there is actually a form you will fill up for this request. However not all people will be granted it will depend on your monetary and/or travel history.
Sometimes people who did not even request for multiple would get multiple on their visas because of their monetary capabilities or Travel History to Japan or around the world.
